Sammy
You came into my life with a bound
And left with a sigh…
You will be forever missed.
You were so tolerant of the toddler
That liked to torture you.
You put up with him, with quiet dignity,
Even though he left you none with his pranks.
Sammy you were so sweet to Alex.
That I loved you even more.
Once Alex was very sick and you woke me
up in time to make sure Alex was ok.
You liked to hog my pillow,
but you kept my ears warm in the winter.
After dealing with Alex,
You would hide from all the kids.
You listened to secrets spilled in hurt,
And kept them to yourself
You were a wonderful pet and friend.
You always knew when I needed you the most,
You are part of my heart.
No other will fill that space in my heart
My heart has a wound that only time will heal.
Your loss hurt a great deal
I hope that you have a wonderful time in the Summerland
You never played with toys so
I don’t have anything that was yours alone
You loved to lounge around liked you owned the castle.
You were the coolest cat ever
In your eyes I saw wisdom and unconditional love.
I hope that you know how much you were loved
I wanted to keep you with me
Even though I knew I had to let go
You comforted me when I was sad.
You knew who I was when I didn’t
Sometimes I feel you in the room with me
I turn looking for you,
But my head tells me your not there
My heart longs for you.
When you left a piece of my heart went with you.
