Sisterhood

We have been here before

In a different time and place

We find each other like a coin

Opposites but always together.

Soft and hard, light and dark

Opposites always, but balanced

Learning to be more of one mind

Hard lessons learned through time.

Switching, losing time, frustrating

Difficult to make simple decisions

So many choices, never a consensus

Pain is hidden deep within ourselves.

Sharing our differences

Learning our similarities

Constantly surprising ourselves

The bonds drawing us closer.

We each have protectors, warriors,

Care takers, mystics, sleeping dragons,

Prowling cats, slithering snakes,

Web making spiders, and empaths.

Circumstances created us within

We survived by adapting and pretending

Masks always in place, never letting it slip

The facets did their duties when needed.

Banished because they say we are damaged,

A haven is created because we are unique

What we are is extremely talented at coping

The parts becoming closer and uniting.

Sister, Friend, Confidant, & Mentor

Building the foundation took time

Trust has been earned on both sides

Love has flourished and grown.
