Missing from my timeline
No viable reason for it
Such a drastic measure
Was I protecting myself?
How could I completely forget?
The existence of someone that
Had been a friend, a sister
What kind of friend was I?
What made me forget her?
So many questions
Searching for the answers inside
Will the answers satisfy;
Perhaps they will create more questions
What’s the point of discovering
The hidden memories
If they aren’t dealt with?
What do I lose by avoiding it?
Learning more about myself
What is gained by facing it?
Everything, along with peace of mind
Fragmented thoughts
Driven from my mind
Pieces
Shards
Slivers
Swirling around
Floating through my consciousness
Feeling them slide into place
As I rediscover them
Putting them back in place
Sifting through the debris
Of forgotten time
Making sense of things
Long buried deep down inside
Things that had been locked away
To help preserve my sanity.
